DAY 2: Reflecting on 2020 - Letting Go

Today is DAY 2: Reflecting on 2020 - Letting Go

Today is DAY 2: Reflecting on 2020 - Letting Go

Pat yourself on the back. Just by reading these blogs, you are investing in your growth and future success!

A line I used in the most recent Color Forward episode (hint: give it a listen!) is: think of the past as a prologue to your future.

Take some time today to look through your digital calendar or your planner, looking at the activities you’ve participated in (or not), and remember how you felt, what you’d hoped for, and the achievements you thought about on Day 1 of this five-day exploration.

If you missed Day 1, go back and think through some of the good times and the bad you’ve had this year. It’s been a long year, but let’s not forget some of your successes!

No judgement, though. Simply reflect.

Sometimes I have super self-discipline and I can do this on my own, but when I’m feeling like it’s all a blur, it’s easier for me to answer these questions with someone I trust and verbally process after I write each answer.

Decide what will serve you best and do it.

For Day 2 of 5 Days of Reflection, Celebration, and Creating Your Future, one of the hardest questions people have hard time answering is #2.

You may have had a certain dream or goal that simply isn’t right for you anymore. Today is the day to let it go. Today is the day that will help you move forward into new possibilities. Here you go:

Day 2: Reflecting on 2020 - Letting Go

  1. What attitudes or beliefs do you want to leave behind in 2020?

  2. What goal or dream do you want to leave behind?

  3. What assumptions about other people do you want to leave behind?

  4. What do you simply need to stop doing in order for tomorrow to be better than yesterday?

  5. What’s your biggest lesson from 2020?

If you’d like me to hold you accountable, you can email me your responses! :-)

(I asked Rosa and Merary, my Color Forward co-hosts, 5 of the questions from these posts and this is what they said.)
